Beyond the Riverbed

Established in 1872, the nation’s first national park is truly a magical place. Almost twice the size of Rhode Island, Yellowstone National Park is home to incredible wildlife, alpine lakes, and over half of the world’s hydro-thermal features. Escaping the crowds, I ventured off-the-beaten-path to a feature of the park called Petrified Tree. The glorified stump wasn’t anything to write home about, but the views of the Yellowstone River were. Explored by Lewis & Clark in 1806, this view only made me think of those who first laid eyes on the amazing sight and their curiosity of what was just beyond the riverbend.
